DR. SHERRY SHIRK HOFFMAN

Dr. Shirk Hoffman has been in private practice, with offices in West Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, since 1982. She treats individuals, couples and families. Prior to entering private practice, she was on staff in Outpatient Psychiatry at Cedar Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Shirk Hoffman is a member of the The Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis faculty, is a Training and Supervising Analyst. She teaches Ethics and Boundary Dilemmas in the Full-time Psychoanalytic Program and has taught and facilitated, in both the Extension and Part Time Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program. She began her psychoanalytic training at The Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis in 1995.
Dr. Shirk Hoffman is a Relational Psychoanalyst with specific interest in Mind-Brain Body Connection as well as Early Attachment Trauma. Since 2006, she has been a Founding Member of a professional study group focusing on treatment of Early Attachment Trauma Sequelae, Relational Trauma, Attachment, and Neuroscience. This is one of many long term study and clinical consultation groups in which Dr. Shirk Hoffman continues to participate. In Dr. Shirk Hoffman’s early work in New York, she focused on adolescents and their families.
